Boa

Pencil drawing of boa outline

I tried to draw a snake

I just wanted to be a Christmas elf and since I don't have any friends or family I thought why not send a little gift to _someone_. My vehicle was in the shop so I thought it wouldn't hurt to send a little gift their way. I had no idea when I was there that they were greving the loss of their family.

It was freezing and I had to go grocery shopping. Since I didn't have my car I had to walk a great deal, which isn't a problem normally but there was snow on the ground and it was cold. I had my little dog in tow along with my backpack for groceries. It was the point of no return for me to drop this painting off because I couldn't take it back with me.

Once I got to the building, no one was there and I tried to make it a point to be there during opertaing hours. I had no idea if they were going to get this or not so as I was laying the painting down a delivery lady showed up. My dog started pooping on the office porch as I asked the lady if she had a marker. Low and behold she did and I wrote Dave's name on the package. I placed it on the porch and never heard anything from anyone until I called later next year. I spoke to his son and learned that Dave not only liked what I made but it made his wall. I felt beside myself at the shock of learning about the death of Dave's wife. I was even more overwhelemed that they actually got the painting, I mean I just left it on a porch anyone could have taken it but I was even more with emotion that it had a home.

The boa was a great challange for me to attempt. I'm glad I didn't try to paint it and mess it up because watercolor is extremely unforgiving. I hope this art helps in some way to bring peace to Dave.
